A 23-year-old woman was shot Thursday evening in the Washington Park neighborhood on the South Side.

About 10 p.m., the woman was fighting with a male in the 5100 block of South Wabash Avenue, Chicago Police said. He pulled out a gun and shot the woman in the eye.

She was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where her condition was stabilized, police said.

Area Central detectives were investigating the shooting.

Days earlier, a shootout between two people left a woman dead and two others wounded, including one of the alleged gunmen, according to police.
About 3 a.m., the man, 35, was in the passenger seat as a female driver was traveling in the 3800 block of South Kedzie Avenue when he was struck in the neck by gunfire.
The officer was treated and released for minor injuries at an area hospital.
Several people were treated and released by paramedics at the scene.
The teen and a woman were standing outside in the 3700 block of South Langley Avenue about 12:45 a.m. when someone opened fire, striking them both.
