Man shot through apartment wall while lying in bed in West Town

A man was lying in his bed Wednesday evening when a bullet flew through his wall and struck him in the thigh in the West Town neighborhood.

The 41-year-old was in bed about 5:30 p.m. when a bullet came through the wall from the apartment next door in the 2200 block of West Maypole, according to Chicago Police.

Paramedics took him to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, police said. He had a gunshot wound to the thigh.

The shooter left the scene before police arrived.
