Three people were found dead Monday morning at a home in west suburban Winfield, police said.

Officers responded at 6:07 a.m. to a home in the 500 block of Jefferson Street where two unresponsive people appeared to be injured, according to Winfield police. A concerned citizen called 911 after seeing the people through a window.

The officers found the three bodies after forcing entry to the home, police said.

“The investigation is in its early stages, however we do not feel there is an ongoing threat to the community,” according to Winfield Police Chief David Schar.

There doesn’t appear to be any continuing threat to the public, police said.

No further information was immediately made available.
