A man was seriously wounded early Sunday in a shooting near Grant Park in the Loop.

About 1:40 a.m., the 28-year-old was walking with a group of people when he started arguing with someone in the 600 block of South Lake Shore Drive, Chicago Police said. The person pulled out a gun and shot the man his back.

He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition, police said.

Area Central detectives were investigating the shooting.
