A man was seriously wounded Saturday evening after he was shot in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.

About 7:30 p.m., three males approached the 26-year-old in the 5300 block of South Peoria and began shooting, Chicago Police said.

The man was struck multiple times, and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition, according to police.

Area Central detectives were investigating the shooting.

The man was found unresponsive in an alley in the 10700 block of South Lowe Avenue, police said.
