A 22-year-old man was shot Tuesday afternoon in the Oakland neighborhood on the South Side.

The shooting happened about 1:10 p.m. in the 600 block of East 37th Street, according to Chicago Police.

He suffered a gunshot wound to his right leg and was taken to Mercy Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
