Retail thefts reported on the Near North Side: police

Each theft occurred in the 400 block of North Michigan Avenue, police said.

Chicago police are warning Near North Side businesses of eight retail thefts reported in June and July.

In each incident multiple people walked into retail stores, loaded items into bags and left the stores on foot, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

Each incident happened in the 400 block of North Michigan Avenue between June 5 and July 1 at all times of the day, police said.

Police believe that up to nine people may be involved in the thefts.
