Man killed in Lower West Side motorcycle crash

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Saturday on the Lower West Side.

The 54-year-old was riding the bike on 26th Street about 4 a.m. when he hit the median while turning onto Western Avenue, Chicago police said.

Richard E. Mroch was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:17 a.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He lived in Joliet.

The CPD Major Accidents unit is investigating.
