Boy, 17, shot while riding his bike in Bronzeville

He was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in fair condition, according to police.

A 17-year-old boy was shot while riding his bicycle Tuesday afternoon in Bronzeville.

He was biking about 4:15 p.m. in the 300 block of East 47th Street when two vehicles pulled up alongside each other and someone inside each vehicle began firing at the other, Chicago police said.

The 17-year-old boy fled and realized he had been grazed by a bullet in the right arm, police said.

He was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in fair condition, according to police.

Area One detectives are investigating.
