A man was shot to death Tuesday in Morgan Park on the South Side, police said.

Darius Barren, 29, was in a fight with two other men about 10:50 a.m. in a basement in the 1400 block of West 114th Place, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Someone shot him in the lower back and he was transported to Christ Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

An autopsy conducted confirmed he died of his gunshot wounds, the medical examiner’s office said. His death was ruled a homicide.

The two suspects ran and Area South Detectives are investigating.
