Häagen-Dazs might start making you feel less guilty about those midnight ice cream cravings.
A new collection of light ice cream is now available in stores, offering one-third fewer calories and 25% less total sugar per serving than the regular ice cream.
The HEAVEN collection features ultra-filtered milk, half the fat of regular ice cream, no artificial sweeteners and no GMO ingredients, according to Häagen-Dazs.
Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel, Strawberry Waffle Cone, Peanut Butter Chip and Cold Brew Espresso Chip are among the light ice cream flavors.
HEAVEN is available now at retailers nationwide with a suggested retail price of $5.29. All flavors are available in 14 oz. containers with 230 calories or less per serving.
“Consumers make decisions that are best for them and their needs, which is why we have this wide portfolio in our collections,” says Rachel Jaiven, marketing director forHäagen-Dazs.
The company launches HEAVEN at a time when fads such asthe keto diet, Mediterranean diet, the plant-based diet and intermittent fastingare increasing in popularity.
Other ice cream brands, such asHalo Top,have released flavors aimed at reducing sugar intake. The company’s keto-friendly collectionincludes “ultra-filtered skim milk” and the pints have net carbs ranging from 5 to 10 grams, calories from 410 to 630 and protein from 17 to 22 grams.
Enlightened also introduced its keto line of 11-flavored ice cream pints and barsin 2019and each serving has less than 1 gram of sugar and 1 net carb.
Ice cream options with less sugar are gaining so much momentum that it helped the keto-friendly ice cream brand Rebel Creamery gain $80,400 in pledges toward developing the line.
And for ice cream lovers who might be looking for a bit of a kick in their ice cream, last month Häagen-Dazs alsoadded Rosé & Cream flavorto its Spirit Collection.
