Man killed in Stony Island feeder ramp crash

A man was killed in a crash Thursday on the Stony Island feeder ramp from the Bishop Ford on the South Side.

Timothy Schackelford, 68, was northbound about 6:30 p.m. in a 2008 Infiniti sedan near 95th Street when he lost control, drove off the road and struck a tree, Illinois State Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

He was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

Autopsy results released Friday confirmed he died of his injuries, the medical examiner’s office said. His death was ruled an accident.
