A 22-year-old man died after driving his vehicle into a tree Sunday morning in Rolling Meadows.

Christian J. Flood drove off the roadway and crashed about 6:30 a.m. in the 2300 block of St. James Street, according to a statement from Rolling Meadows police.

Flood and his passenger, both of Rolling Meadows, were taken to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, police said.

Flood was pronounced dead at 7:15 a.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The passenger, a man in his 20s, is expected to make a full recovery, police said.

An investigation into the crash in ongoing, police said.
