‘Foul play’ suspected in death of man found in Calumet River: state police

Authorities are investigating after the body of a Belvedere man was found in the Calumet River last week in Blue Island.

Blue Island Police contacted state police about 8 p.m. June 18 after the body of 35-year-old Carl Gordon was found in the river, Illinois State Police said in a statement.

“We can confirm foul play is suspected” in the man’s death, state police said.
