Man, 25, shot dead in Maywood

Darryl Woodard was shot several times about 3:45 p.m. in the 2100 block of South 9th Avenue, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

A 25-year-old man was fatally shot Friday in south suburban Maywood.

Darryl Woodard was shot several times about 3:45 p.m. in the 2100 block of South 9th Avenue, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He was taken to the Loyola University Medical Center, where he died about an hour later.

An autopsy determined Woodard died of his injuries, and ruled his death a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.

Woodard lived in Maywood.

Maywood police did not immediately respond to a request for details.
