A 59-year-old McHenry man died in a crash Wednesday morning after being struck by a semitrailer in northwest suburban Wauconda Township.

He was driving east in a van about 8 a.m. when he was hit by a semitrailer at Route 60 and Wilson Road, the Lake County sheriff’s office said.

The semitrailer veered into the man’s van after being struck by a southbound SUV that disregarded a stop sign, the sheriff’s office said.

The driver of the van died at the scene. He was identified as Michael Linderman by the Lake County coroner’s office. An autopsy found he died of multiple injuries from the crash.

A passenger of the van, along with the drivers of the SUV and semitrailer, were taken to hospitals with injuries that were not life-threatening.

No charges have been filed.
