Man killed in Longwood Manor crash

A man was killed in a crash Sunday in Longwood Manor on the South Side.

The 19-year-old was driving a Pontiac about 11:50 a.m. in the 100 block of West 98th Place when he struck a pole, Chicago police said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

He was identified as Marshawn Devon Murphy of Roseland, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

An autopsy confirmed he died of injuries from the crash and ruled his death an accident, the medical examiner’s office said.
