Two teenagers were seriously hurt in an ATV crash Sunday afternoon in north suburban Lake Villa.

Both teens were on an inner tube pulled by string attached to the ATV, Lake Villa police said. The inner tube then crashed into a tree, ejecting the teens.

Authorities responded about 1:15 p.m. to a backyard in the 100 block of Fieldstone Drive.

Both teens suffered serious injuries, but one of the teens had life-threatening injuries and was unconscious, police said. That teen was airlifted to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.

Police did not expected charges to be filed against the driver.
