Man found shot to death in South Chicago

The 50-year-old was found unresponsive on the ground in the 2800 block of East 81st Street, Chicago police said.

A man was found shot to death Wednesday night in the South Chicago neighborhood.

John Joiner, 50, was found unresponsive on the ground about 9:35 p.m. in the 2800 block of East 81st Street, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Joiner, of the Burnside neighborhood, suffered gunshot wounds to his head and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police said.

There was no one in custody.
