A man was killed in a shooting Sunday in suburban South Chicago Heights.
Officers responded about 7 a.m. to the 2800 block of Commercial Avenue and found Nathaniel Jones, 36, laying on the ground unresponsive, South Chicago Heights Police Chief Bill Joyce said in a statement.
Jones was found with a gunshot wound to his throat, and was pronounced dead at the scene, Joyce said.
Autopsy results released Monday ruled his death a homicide, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
No arrests have been reported. Anyone with information was asked to call detectives at 708-754-7131.
