A 49-year-old man riding a motorcycle was killed in a crash with an SUV Sunday in suburban Schaumburg.

The crash happened about 2:10 p.m. near the intersection of East Golf Road and National Parkway, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The man was westbound on Golf on a 2012 BMW motorcycle when a 2015 Lexus which was eastbound on Golf stopped at the intersection, according to preliminary information from Schaumburg police.

The Lexus turned left onto National and the motorcycle struck the passenger side of the car, police said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. He was identified as Frederikas Suchaverskis, of McHenry.

Police said a 44-year-old woman in the Lexus suffered serious injuries and was taken to Alexian Brothers Medical Center with serious injuries. The driver and a second passenger were not injured.

An autopsy released Monday determined the man died of injuries from the crash, the medical examiner’s office said. His death was ruled an accident.
