Driver falls asleep and crashes into home in Burnside

A man was driving a 2004 Dodge Charger when he crashed into a fence and the stairs of a residence in the 1000 block of East 93rd Street.

A woman was killed and an officer wounded during a shoot-out Apr. 3, 2022, in an Oak Forest grocery store.

A car crashed into a home in Burnside on the South Side Wednesday morning after the driver fell asleep.

The 33-year-old man was driving a 2004 Dodge Charger about 1:55 a.m. when he crashed into the fence and the stairs of a residence in the 1000 block of East 93rd Street, Chicago police said.

The man was brought to Roseland Community Hospital, where he refused treatment, police said. There was no structural damage to the home.

Citations were pending, police said.
