18-year-old shot and killed while walking in Lawndale

The teen was in the 3400 block of West 18th Street when people got out of a car and began shooting, Chicago police said.

An 18-year-old man was fatally shot Tuesday night in Lawndale on the West Side.

The teen was walking in the 3400 block of West 18th Street about 7:40 p.m. when several people got out of a car and began shooting, Chicago police said.

He was struck in the head and chest and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Mikhail Wiggins.

No one was in custody, police said.
