Authorities release name of man killed in Bucktown crash

The man was driving in the 2000 block of North Ashland Avenue when he struck a center median, Chicago police said.

A man died early Monday after he crashed into a median in Bucktown on the North Side.

Anthony Israel Sanchez, 30, drove into a center median about 1:55 a.m. in the 2000 block of North Ashland Avenue, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

He died at the scene, according to police. An autopsy Tuesday ruled his death an accident.

Police believe the car was traveling at high speed before striking the median. There were no other people in the car, police said.

Area Five detectives were investigating.
