A child died after being shot Friday in suburban Burbank, police said.

Authorities responded to the shooting about 2:20 p.m. at a residence in the 8300 block of Laramie Avenue, Burbank police said.

The child, whose age was not immediately known, was pronounced dead at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.

Police did not release details on the circumstances of the shooting.

Burbank police are investigating.
