Minor derailment halts Red Line trains from Belmont to Howard Monday evening

No injuries were reported, according to Chicago fire officials.

Red Line service on the North Side was temporarily suspended Monday evening following a minor train derailment near Bryn Mawr Avenue.

One wheel of a southbound train went off the tracks near the station at 1119 W. Bryn Mawr Ave. shortly after 6 p.m., according to Chicago fire officials.

There were 24 passengers on board the train but no injuries were reported, fire officials said.

CTA Red Line trains operated only between 95th Street and Belmont Avenue until about 10 p.m. when service resumed.
