Man fatally shot inside vehicle in Grand Crossing

A man was fatally shot inside a vehicle Saturday afternoon in Grand Crossing on the South Side.

About 2:05 p.m., the 29-year-old was inside a vehicle in the 7300 block of South Dorchester Avenue, when someone shot him in the left side of his body, Chicago police said.

He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Kenneth Patton.

Area One detectives are investigating.
