A 1-year-old boy reported missing from Uptown on the North Side has been located safe.

Tristan Whigham was reported missing Monday from the 4800 block of North Marine Drive, according to Chicago police.

Police on Tuesday said he was found safe.

The boy was walking out of his home about 3 p.m. in the 2300 block of West Jackson Boulevard when shots were fired, striking him in the chest, police said. Sources say an assault-style rifle was used in the attack.
