A man died early Wednesday after he was struck by a CTA Blue Line train in Jefferson Park on the Northwest Side.

The 40-year-old man was hit by an inbound train in the 4900 block of North Milwaukee Avenue about 12:30 a.m., Chicago police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Area Five detectives were investigating.
