Man killed in Park Manor double shooting

A 27-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead, Chicago police said.

A girl was hurt in a shooting June 4, 2022, in Calumet Heights.

A man was killed and another critically wounded in a shooting August 6, 2021, in Park Manor.

One person was killed and another critically wounded in a shooting Friday evening in Park Manor on the South Side.

A man, 27, and another male, whose age was unknown, were near the front of a home in the 6900 block of South Vernon Avenue just before 5 p.m., when two people approached and opened fire, Chicago police said.

The 27-year-old was struck in the head and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Christopher Robinson.

The other male suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was taken to the same hospital in critical condition, police said.

There was no one in custody.
