A man was shot Sunday night in North Austin on the Northwest Side.

The man, 38, was standing outside in the 1800 block of North Monitor Avenue when someone wearing a blue shirt approached and opened fire around 11:30 p.m., Chicago Police said.

The man was suffered a gunshot wound to his torso and was taken to Loyola University Medical Center where he was listed in serious condition, police said.

No one was in custody.
