Man fatally struck by Metra BNSF train in Berwyn

A man was struck and killed by a Metra BNSF train Wednesday afternoon near suburban Berwyn.

Train #1268 struck a pedestrian around 4:30 p.m. at Windsor Avenue and Grove Street, according to Metra officials and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. All trains were operating by 6 p.m. with extensive delays.

The person’s name has not been released, but medical examiner’s office data shows he was a 57-year-old man from south suburban Chicago Heights.
