The Bears will play the Cardinals without one of their most dynamic offensive players: Alshon Jeffery.
The former Pro Bowl wide receiver was ruled out for Sunday’s game at Soldier Field. He did not practice Friday after feeling hamstring “tightness” following Thursday’s practice, coach John Fox said then. The injury occurred after Jeffery was a full practice participant for only the second time since the start of preseason games. A calf strain kept him out of all four.
Bears outside linebacker Pernell McPhee will be active Sunday after having wrist and knee issues during practice this week. Defensive lineman Ego Ferguson (knee) will not play. The Bears’ other inactives are cornerback Tracy Porter, running back Ka’Deem Carey, linebacker Jon Bostic, center Hroniss Grasu and tackle Tayo Fabuluje.
The Bears activated receiver Cameron Meredith, but will likely use either Marc Mariani or Josh Bellamy in Jeffery’s place.
