Not a whole lot is going the right direction for the Blackhawks Friday night against the New Jersey Devils. Through the majority of two periods they trailed by multiple goals.

With just a few minutes left in the second period and the Blackhawks down 4-0, Patrick Kane gave the team a little life. In doing so, he extended his point total as well.

Kane’s goal may have only made it 4-1, but it was his ninth straight game with at least one point and his fifth point in the last three games.

Unfortunately, that was one of the few signs of life the Blackhawks put on display through the first two periods of Friday night’s game in New Jersey. The Devils scored three goals in the first, and followed that with a quick one in the second. Corey Crawford had already been pulled and replaced by Scott Darling.
