A new twist for Oreos

Your favorite way to eat an Oreo could be about to change.

Oreo churros could show up soon at convenience stores, fast-food restaurants or sports venues nationwide.

The new snack is a partnership between Oreo-maker Mondelez International and J&J Snack Foods Corp. Oreo churros were introduced earlier this month at the National Association of Convenience Stores in Las Vegas.

“As the leading churro manufacturer, we are excited about our new relationship with the world famous Oreo cookie brand,” Jerry Law, J&J Snack Foods senior vice president, said in a statement. “Oreo cookie and churro fans alike will not be disappointed in the latest snacking mash up.”

The Oreo churro has “a crispy exterior, warm soft interior and Oreo cookie pieces in every bite,” according to J&J Snack Foods. The snack will be available as traditional churro sticks, double-twisted churros and bite-size churros. The companies say the churros could be served with Oreo cookie creme dip, rolled in sugar or topped with ice cream.
