Enjoy $2 gas while you can. GasBuddy.com’s annual price forecast sees gasoline prices rising with the temperatures.

While Chicago-area pump prices have steadily slipped to around $2 a gallon this fall and winter, GasBuddy.com analysts expect prices will average between $2.75 and $3.05 between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Peak pump prices, which usually happen in April and May, might average between $3.05 and $3.35 as the area switches to summer-blend fuels.

Overall, GasBuddy.com expects pump prices to average between $2.70 and $2.95 for 2015.

Moaning and groaning about the predicted prices only proves how quickly we forget: Pump prices in the Chicago area averaged $3.63 a gallon in 2014, the lowest in five years.
