Garage burglaries reported in Gage Park, Back of the Yards: police

In each incident, someone forced entry into the garage and stole items from within.

Both burglaries happened in Humboldt Park

The burglaries happened between June 24 and July 6.

Police are warning residents to make sure their doors and windows are locked after garage burglaries were reported in Gage Park and Back of the Yards in June and July.

In each case, someone forced their way into garages and took property from inside, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

The burglaries happened:

• June 24 in the 2200 Block of West 51st Street;

• July 6 in the 4800 Block of South Hoyne Avenue; and

• July 6 in the 4800 Block of South Seeley Avenue.

The incidents happened in the overnight hours between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m., police said.
