Boy, 17, hurt in Englewood shooting

A teenage boy was shot Friday in Englewood on the South Side.

The 17-year-old was standing on the corner at 2:33 p.m. in the 6800 block of South Wood Street when he heard gunshots and started to run away, according to Chicago police.

He was shot in the arm and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said. His condition was stabilized.

No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
