Police are warning Bucktown residents of a recent string of thefts to vehicles near a single intersection on the North Side.

Vehicles have been broken into five times so far in July at the intersection of Ashland and North avenues, Chicago police said. One or more people broke windows and stole property from inside.

The thefts happened:

  • between 12:50 a.m. and 1:27 a.m. July 24 in the 1600 block of North Avenue;
  • about 3 a.m. July 21 in the 1600 block of North Avenue;
  • between 8 p.m. and 8:20 p.m. July 19 in the 1600 block of North Avenue;
  • between 9:45 p.m. and 10:50 p.m. July 9 in the 1500 block of North Avenue; and
  • about 2 a.m. July 6 in the 1600 block of North Avenue.
