A 19-year-old woman was shot and killed Friday in west suburban Aurora, according to police.

Officers were dispatched just after 10:20 p.m. to the the 400 block of East Benton Street for a report of a person shot on the front porch of a home, Aurora police said. There they found Maritza Cazares with gunshot wounds.

Cazares was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said. Cazares lived in Aurora.

Police said the shooting does not appear to be a random incident but do not believe that Cazares was the intended target.

Aurora police are conducting a homicide investigation.
