Woman robbed on South Side

An unknown person took her cell phone and ran from the scene, police said.

A 16-year-old boy was shot December 11, 2021 in Gresham.

Her condition was stabilized at Franciscan Health Hospital.

A 22-year-old woman was robbed by someone Sunday on the Southeast Side.

About 9 p.m., the woman was walking in the 9700 block of South Avenue M when someone approached her from behind, placed a handgun on her leg and demanded she not turn around, Chicago police said.

An original report stated that the robber shot the woman in the leg, but detectives later determined she didn’t sustain a gunshot wound, police said.

She took herself to Franciscan Health Hospital where her condition was stabilized, police said.

Area South detectives are investigating.
