A 38-year-old woman was wounded Tuesday when she was shot in Englewood on the South Side.

She was in front of a home about 3 p.m. in the 5500 block of South Wolcott Avenue when someone came up and opened fire, Chicago police said.

She was struck in the knee and ankle, and her condition was stabilized at the University of Chicago Medical Center, police said.

No arrests have been made.
