Woman shot in backyard of Gresham home

The 18-year-old was in the 7600 block of South Lowe Avenue when someone opened fire, police said.

A woman was shot Thursday in Gresham on the South Side.

She was in the backyard of a home about 11:09 p.m. in the 7600 block of South Lowe Avenue when someone unleashed gunfire, Chicago police said.

The woman was hit in the back and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said. Her condition was stabilized.

Area South detectives are investigating.
