Man shot, killed in Hammond

An 18-year-old man was shot to death Thursday in Hammond, Indiana.

At 9:27 p.m., authorities responded to 165th Street and Blaine Avenue in Hammond and found Jorge Roman suffering from a gunshot wound, according to the Lake County coroner’s office. He was pronounced dead at 10:15 p.m.

His death was ruled a homicide, the coroner’s office said. Roman lived in East Chicago, Indiana.

Hammond police did not immediately respond to a request for details.
