A man was found stabbed to death last week in a trash can in the South Side Gresham neighborhood.

Authorities found 38-year-old Djuan Mays with stab wounds to his neck in a trash can about 5:25 p.m. Sept. 13 in the 8300 block of South Emerald, Chicago police said.

Mays was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

An autopsy released Saturday found he died of a stab wound to the neck, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Area South detectives are conducting a homicide investigation, police said.
