2 restaurants robbed at gunpoint on same night in Waukegan

Waukegan police are investigating two armed robberies to businesses Saturday night in the north suburb.

Officers responded to the first robbery about 8 p.m. at Hoagie Hut in the 2800 block of Grand Avenue, according to Waukegan police.

An employee said two males, one of them armed, entered the business and demanded cash, police said. They left before getting the money.

Police responded to another about 9 p.m. at Quickstop Food in the 600 block of Greenwood Avenue, police said.

Two males matching the description of the first robbery entered the store and demanded money, police said. They left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No arrests have been made.
