Man shot, carjacked in Austin

About 11:20 p.m., two males walked up the 31-year-old and fired shots as he got out of his vehicle in the first block of North Mayfield Avenue, Chicago police said.

A man was shot and robbed of his vehicle Thursday in Austin on the West Side.

About 11:20 p.m., two males walked up the 31-year-old and fired shots as he got out of his vehicle in the first block of North Mayfield Avenue, Chicago police said.

The man was struck in the leg and buttocks and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was in serious condition, police said. He told officers the shooters drove off in his vehicle.

No one is in custody as Area Four detectives investigate.
