Man, 18, shot to death in Lawndale

The man was shot in the “flank area” about 8:20 p.m. in the 3800 block of West 13th Street, Chicago police said.

An 18-year-old man was fatally shot Saturday in Lawndale on the West Side.

The man was shot in the “flank area” about 8:20 p.m. in the 3800 block of West 13th Street, Chicago police said.

The man, who was identified as Nasee Minniefield, died about an hour later at Mt. Sinai Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. An autopsy ruled his death a homicide, saying he died of a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Details about the shooting were not immediately available.

Area Four detectives are investigating.
