Man killed in Austin shooting

Eli Lozada, 21, was sitting in a vehicle Saturday when someone approached the vehicle and fired shots, striking him in the head, authorities said.

A teen boy was shot Feb. 26, 2021 in Back of the Yards on the South Side.

A man was shot dead Nov. 21, 2020, in the 100 block of North Waller Avenue.

A man was killed in a shooting Saturday in Austin on the West Side.

Eli Lozada, 21, was sitting in a vehicle about 12:30 a.m. in the 100 block of North Waller Avenue when someone approached the vehicle and fired shots, striking him in the head, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Lozada was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where he was pronounced dead at 10:38 a.m., authorities said. He lived in Stickney.

No arrests have been reported. Area Four detectives are investigating.
