A 19-year-old man was fatally shot Monday afternoon in West Garfield Park.

About 2:20 p.m., Willie Baker, was walking down the street in the 500 block of South Kostner Avenue when he was shot, according to Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Officers found him unresponsive on the sidewalk, with multiple gunshot wounds, and took him to Stroger Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

An autopsy released Tuesday ruled his death a homicide.

Area Four detectives are investigating.
